Webinar Details:

Typically, when we set out to design or specify a pneumatic conveying system, we start to scribble notes on a piece of paper listing the system’s necessary parameters. These parameters include things such as product density, conveying rate, distance, etc. Next, we need to consider the type of pneumatic conveying system we need, meaning vacuum versus pressure. The next major decision is what “mode” of conveying we want to establish in the convey line — dilute phase or dense phase. These initial decisions are primarily affected by the physical properties of the material, but other considerations come into play as well.

The final set of decisions we need to make deal with selecting specific pieces of equipment. At this point, materials of construction and specific application requirements become important. These factors are primarily influenced by the chemical properties of the material to be conveyed. This webinar will focus specifically on this part of the decision-making process and look at those non-physical properties, including a material’s chemical composition. We’ll also provide recommendations and options for how to deal with these issues in the equipment-selection process.

Presenter Information:

Powder and Bulk Engineering is presenting many webinars throughout 2020 to meet the educational needs of those who are currently handling powder and bulk solid substances. These webinars are an extension of the educational information we provide to you each month.

PDH Information:
If you are working on a certification or licensing program that allows Professional Development Hours, CSC Publishing Inc. will (upon request) provide a Certificate of Participation for our educational webinars put on by Powder and Bulk Engineering. One certificate per registered participant will be sent if the webinar is viewed. You should check with your employer or local agency to confirm their specific PDH requirements. In many cases, our educational webinars will contribute toward these hours.
