Pinnacle Renewable Energy Inc., a wood pellet manufacturer and distributor headquartered in Prince George, BC, suspended operations at its wood-pellet plant in Entwhistle, AB, to investigate the cause of a dryer explosion at the plant that injured 12 workers. The company plans to find the cause of the incident and develop action plans to restart the facility. According to the company, the facility sustained little damage, and production of wood pellets from dry fiber was expected to resume in March. The company currently operates eight wood-pellet production facilities in western Canada and one in Alabama.
