Combustible dust compliance via proper housekeeping

The dangers of combustible dust have been known since at least 1785, when dry flour dust caught fire and exploded at Giacomelli's Bakery Warehouse in Italy. Two workers were injured and the very first combustible dust incident report was written. Now, more than 230 years later, combustible dust incidents continue to happen. Camfil APC to build 254,000-square-foot facility in Arkansas
 
Camfil Air Pollution Control (APC) announced construction of a new manufacturing facility to replace its previous building that was destroyed by a tornado in March 2020. The new 254,000-square-foot facility, including a factory and office space, will be located in Jonesboro, AR, and is expected to be completed in early 2022. Since the tornado, the company has been conducting manufacturing operations from a rented facility; however, the filter cartridge production, warehousing, and shipping areas remained intact in the original location. GEA receives patent for food spray dryers
 
GEA, a technology supplier for the food processing industry based in Düsseldorf, Germany, has received a patent for its Clean Purge system for food and dairy spray dryers. The patent covers the process of purging feed nozzles while swapping feed systems to ensure continuous material feed to a spray dryer, which allows the process to operate nonstop while maintaining safety and efficiency during feed line swaps.
