Scoular Co. has named its new freeze-dried pet food ingredient manufacturing subsidiary Petsource by Scoular. Petsource will develop, procure, freeze-dry, and package high-protein ingredients for pet food manufacturers. As part of the manufacturer’s plans to be a source for safety, quality, and reliability in the freeze-dried pet food supply chain, the company is constructing a $50 million manufacturing plant in Seward, NE. Plant construction began in August 2019 and is set to finish in the fall of 2020. Jon Heussner, director of operations, will be in charge of the new facility, which will create 100 new jobs.
