Pittcon 2021, the annual analytical chemistry event organized by the Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy, has decided to hold a virtual event this year. The event will be held March 8-12, 2021, and is the 72nd annual installment of the exposition. The decision to do a virtual event was made in the interest of the uncertainty surrounding in-person events. Pittcon organizers attended various virtual events and listened to attendees via surveys to plan the now-on-line event. Pittcon seeks to connect scientists worldwide, facilitating the exchange of research and ideas, showcasing the latest in laboratory innovation, and funding scientific education and outreach. The event will be held via a virtual platform from LabRoots, which will allow attendees to focus on the technical programming, networking opportunities, and instrumentation and services the exhibitors offer. Registration is open now for the event and virtual booth space is available until February. The technical program has its keynote speakers and symposia lecturers in place, while contributed session and poster session applications will be accepted until late January.
