Mount Franklin Foods, a manufacturer of branded, contract, and private-label confectionery, nuts, snacks, foodservice products, and dry blended ingredients, has opened a 220,000-square-foot candy manufacturing facility in San Jeronimo, Mexico. The facility is located at a port of entry in the Mexican state of Chihuahua across the US border from Santa Teresa, NM, and the company’s headquarters in El Paso, TX.
The facility will add 130 million pounds of capacity in soft, nonchocolate candy for the company along with more than 300 additional jobs. The facility’s first line opened in October 2020, and the second line will be fully operational by the second quarter of 2021. A packaging line serving a wide range of bag sizes will also be included, as will facilities for research and development of future products. To learn more, click here.
