Metso Outotec Corp., Helsinki, Finland, has divested its aluminum business to Reel International. The aluminum business is based in Germany, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates with presences in China, India, and Australia. Headquartered in Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d’Or, France, Reel will purchase green anode plants, anode rodshops, and cast houses used in aluminum smelters and related equipment and services. The deal also impacts 120 workers who will transfer to Reel upon closing, which is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2021. Metso’s aluminum business complements Reel’s business, which develops, builds, installs, and maintains complex handling systems for the metallurgy, energy, defense, and other industries.

Metso employs more than 15,000 globally with a focus on sustainable technologies, end-to-end solutions, and services for the aggregates, minerals processing, metals refining, and recycling industries globally.
