Gummi manufacturer HARIBO has begun construction of its first North American manufacturing facility in Pleasant Prairie, WI. The German company has planned a 500,000-square-foot plant to expand its global manufacturing network. The plant’s first construction phase is set to be completed in late 2022, and the facility will initially produce Goldbears candies followed by other products. The plant will produce up to 385 jobs in phase one and up to 4,200 indirect jobs once construction is complete.

The company has global headquarters in Grafschaft, Germany, and US headquarters in Rosemont, IL. The company makes various candies and currently employs about 7,000 workers across 16 production sites in 10 countries.
