Eriez, a supplier of magnetic, vibratory, and inspection equipment, has announced the completion of a major expansion at its facility in Erie, PA. The expansion to the Wager Road facility, located about 15 miles from the company’s headquarters, will support the company’s strategic growth initiatives for global research and development (R&D), aftermarket repair and testing, and recycling equipment technology.
The site was purchased in 2011 and the company broke ground on the expansion in January 2020. The project is the largest investment made by the company to date. The expansion adds 38,000 square feet to the existing building, making it 148,000 square feet total. The project added another manufacturing bay to the current plant. One section of the new bay will be dedicated to a recycling test center that offers large equipment demonstration capabilities and full-scale evaluations of customer product streams. Another section provides additional floor space for the after-market repair center. The bay’s final section will hold a new R&D area to support product development.
The project also makes room for an electronics lab that will house next generation electronics development activities, which includes an electrical hardware development lab, a magnetics testing and materials lab, and a circuit board development area. 4-21
