In January, Duravant, a global engineered equipment and automation supplier in the food processing, packaging, and material handling industries, announced the formation of nVenia, a new operating company within Duravant’s packaging solutions segment. The new operation will combine Arpac, Hamer-Fischbein, and Ohlson brands into a single operating unit. Arpac equipment includes shrink wrappers, tray and case formers, and robotic and conventional palletizers; Fischbein equipment includes open-mouth bag sewing and sealing systems; Hamer equipment includes industrial bagging automation equipment; and Ohlson equipment includes primary packaging lines to weigh, count, and ll all types of packages. According to the company, by leveraging the strengths of these brands, nVenia is positioned to be an equipment designer, manufacturer, and integrator for packaging solutions.
All four company names will continue as product brands under the nVenia umbrella. “By bringing these brands together under one roof and one name, we are creating next-level packaging equipment, integration, and innovation solutions for our customers,” says Mike Kachmer, Duravant president and CEO.
nVenia will operate from a newly constructed, 256,000-square-foot facility in Wood Dale, IL. Plans call for the facility to open in April 2021, with nVenia’s existing manufacturing sites transitioning into the new facility by the end of the year. nVenia’s customers will continue to be serviced by existing sales reps and maintenance and service personnel.
