Bühler AG, a company with experience in the weighing and dosing technology arena, and swisca AG, a new company in the weighing and dosing industry, have agreed to settle an intellectual property dispute out of court without disclosing the settlement.
Some Bühler employees terminated their contracts in early 2018 and in the fall of that year formed swisca, a new company that competes with some of Bühler’s weighing and processing equipment. The two companies disputed the use of some intellectual property elements and know-how by swisca but were able to come to an agreement out of court that they agree is in the interest of both companies and will allow them both to continue serving customers in the future.
Bühler, Uzwil, Switzerland, manufactures various types of equipment, including weighing, drying, and other processing equipment. swisca, Appenzell, Switzerland, manufactures machines, scales, and measuring instruments for powder and granulated material.
