Columnist Brian Young discusses how demand for new products, changing regulations, and the search for new and novel uses of existing materials are helping drive trends in the briquetting industry.

Interest in recycling and the desire to save energy are two of the forces helping to foster interest in briquetting. Companies are using the technology to recycle waste into fuel and keep that waste out of landfills. Young also talks about the biennial meeting of the Institute for Briquetting and Agglomeration (IBA), an organization that provides briquetting and agglomeration information for members.
