Pneumatic Conveying: Troubleshooting, 11/10
CD of live broadcast 11/9/10
This is the annual webinar focusing on Troubleshooting Pneumatic Conveying Systems. In the past, we have covered all the various types and modes of conveying in one webinar. While this approach has enabled everyone to get a portion of the information that may be applicable to them and their installation, it meant we could not go into more specific detail.
This webinar will look at primarily dilute phase pneumatic conveying systems using a rotary airlock as the line charger and a positive displacement blower as the gas supply. It will include a review of both pressure and vacuum conveying systems.
Topics will include the following:
- Fluctuating line pressure
- Low conveying capacity
- High rate of wear of conveying line and components
- Product degradation while conveying
- Proper venting of rotary airlocks
Methods of making a preliminary assessment of what may be wrong with a system will also be discussed as well as detailed solutions to specific hardware problems.
While not absolutely necessary, it is recommended that the previous webinar sessions dealing with dilute phase pneumatic conveying and troubleshooting be reviewed for exposure to the terminology and expressions that will be used.
