A dryer supplier's test lab helps a metals producer choose the right equipment for drying and calcining a metallic compound.
Most companies that produce bulk solids or powders use a drying step in the production process. Drying is an important step for many reasons: It reduces a material's mass to make handling and shipping easier, increases a material's stability to help prevent damage during shipping, recovers valuable reagents or by-products, and removes toxic or noxious liquids. However, drying can also add to operation costs if the dryer is improperly sized for the application or if one of the drying parameters is incorrectly calculated.
