In this column, I’m going to discuss sampling in batch blending. You sample during batch blending to determine that the batch is blended properly to meet your customer’s specifications or the requirements of a downstream process. A few industries, such as the pharmaceutical industry, don’t sample because they follow a strict auditing process established by the government or another regulatory body. But most of us need to sample our blends.
