This session will take a look at the common factors that define a material as being “difficult” to handle and include
- Cohesiveness
- Abrasiveness
- Friability (Tendency to have degradation)
- Moisture Sensitivity (Hydroscopicity)
- Temperature Sensitivity
- HAZOP Considerations (Explosiveness, Toxicity)
The presentation will look at each of the main parts of a typical pneumatic conveying system and identify considerations and modifications that may be required to address the specific issues for the product being handled. Special attention will be given to the line chargers, conveying line options and receiver design, as they are the areas most affected by materials with special considerations.
