Very few agglomeration topics create as much interest or generate as many questions as the subject of binders. By definition, a binder can be an inherent ingredient of a given material or an added solid or liquid ingredient that improves the bonding forces and final durability of a pellet, granule, briquet, or extrudate. Since my last article on binders in Powder and Bulk Engineering, I've seen continuing interest in the subject, as evidenced by questions from PBE readers and others.
