When a Kansas power plant wanted to replace vibratory feeders with belt conveyor feeders to deliver coal to hammermills, a simple conveyor component played a large part in the power plant's processing redesign. Conveyor takeups allowed the belt conveyor feeders to be placed end to end, moving coal in opposite directions. The unique configuration has made a great impact on plant efficiency.
