Center provides answers to powder handlers' most pressing problems
Tests at PTX-Pentronix show a ceramics producer that a lab-size spray dryer can economically produce high-quality spherical agglomerates.
Two years ago, a leading producer of advanced technical ceramics approached PTX-Pentronix's powder technology center in Lincoln Park, Mich., a suburb of Detroit, seeking a flexible solution in its manufacture of electronic sub assemblies. The producer required two different high- quality powders of flowable, spray dried, spherical agglomerates, which would later be pressed into high-quality substrates, the backbone of electronic circuits.
