Fundamentals of Material Flow

Date:
Tuesday, May 7, 2013

Time:  12:00 PM (Noon) – 2:00 PM EDT

Presented by:  Eric P. Maynard

Moderated by:  Christine Bernier Lienke, Associate Editor of Powder and Bulk Engineering

Webinar Cost:  $99.00 USD

Registration fee is non-refundable after the live event.

Webinar Details:  Fundamentals of the flow and storage of bulk solids will be discussed in this webinar. Coverage of common material flow problems is presented, along with discussion of flow property testing of bulk solids and how the data are used to determine key parameters for silo design. The two silo/hopper discharge patterns are reviewed. Numerous practical examples are used throughout the webinar to illustrate the fundamental concepts.

Presenter Information:  Eric P. Maynard, a senior consultant with Jenike & Johanson since 1996, has published over two-dozen papers on the storage, flow, and pneumatic transport of bulk solids. He lectures frequently on solids handling and pneumatic conveying through the ASME/AIChE Continuing Education Program and to individual companies. He has designed hundreds of handling systems for bulk solids, with a special focus on the Cement Industry. Eric has particular interest in crushing technologies for the minerals industry, as well as in the field of dust explosions and powder electrostatics. He is a member of ASME, AIChE, and the National Fire Protection Association. Eric received his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

PDH Information:  If you are working on a certification or licensing program that allows Professional Development Hours, CSC Publishing Inc. will (upon request) provide a Certificate of Participation for our educational webinars put on by Powder and Bulk Engineering.
