Discharge and feed system provides consistent feedrates from silo
An engineering firm works with a bulk material handling system supplier to solve a silo discharge problem.
Keyria Inc., Littleton, Colo., designs, engineers, and automates manufacturing plants for companies that produce various clay, concrete, ceramic, and gypsum products. In November 2008, the engineering firm completed construction of a turnkey brick manufacturing plant capable of producing more than 100 million bricks annually. During the plant’s commissioning phase, the system that feeds petroleum coke from the silo to the brick kiln experienced some problems that needed to be resolved.
