This slide-gate valve is a keeper

A producer of custom-blended PVC compounded products replaces a worn slide-gate valve in a blending line to ensure continued efficient operation.

Aurora Plastics Inc., headquartered in Streetsboro, Ohio, custom-blends more than 500 million pounds per year of rigid and foam polyvinylchloride (PVC) powder and pellet compounds for customers in the window, fencing, siding, decking, pipe, and custom-profile extruder markets. In 2003, the company chose a slide-gate valve from an Ontario-based equipment manufacturer to install in a new blending facility at its Welcome, N.C., production site. After 8 years of continuous and essentially trouble-free use, the valve finally started to show signs of wear and needed to be replaced.
