Ultrasonic sensors guarantee successful silo filling
A cement production and packaging company upgraded its silo-filling operation by installing several ultrasonic continuous level sensors in its silos.
St. Lawrence Cement, headquartered in Mount Royal, Quebec, operates a cement production and packaging facility in Catskill, N. Y., that produces various grades of cement for industrial and residential construction projects. The company recently decided to upgrade the Catskill facility's silo-filling operation and needed to install continuous level sensors in the silos to detect the material's height and prevent overfilling. After testing two different types of continuous level sensors, the company decided to install several ultrasonic continuous level sensors in the silos.
