Test facility delivers positive results on time every time
A company uses a supplier's test facility to determine the best pneumatic conveying system to install in its plant.
HA International, Westmont, Ill., supplies products and services for the North American metal casting industry, including resin-coated sands, various resin binder systems, and refractory coatings, as well as field service support. In the past, to make one of the resin-coated sands, the company used a labor-intensive and time-consuming method to add six powder ingredients to the manufacturing process. Last year, the company decided to replace this ingredient-addition method by installing an automated system to weigh, pneumatically convey, and add the minor ingredients. The company worked with a bulk material handling systems supplier, conducting material and equipment tests at the suppliers midwestern test facility.
