Power plant's maintenance department gets fired up about coupling
A retrofit program using nonlubricated couplings saves time and improves equipment performance at Colbert Steam Plant.
Lubricated drive couplings, a concern in any power plant, are being eliminated wherever possible at the Tennessee Valley Authority's Colbert Steam Plant. As a result, the amount of time required for coupling maintenance has been reduced, and the performance of rotating equipment has been improved, increasing plant uptime.
