Dairygold plant tastes success with automatic salting system
Irish co-op increases capacity of a cheesemaking line.
Dairygold Co-operative Society is Ireland's largest farmer-owned food and agri-business company. It processes dairy products, beef, and pork. It also trades and mills grain, breeds cattle and operates a large chain of hardware stores and supermarkets. More than 3,000 people work at the co-op, and its annual sales exceed US$800 million. The company's dairy division receives more than 2 million metric tons of milk from about 4,000 farmers.
