When the speed reducer on the horizontal auger drive of a large barge unloader failed recently and could not be repaired, it looked like Texasgulf Chemical Company's phosphate operation was facing a shipping slowdown. The Swedish-made Siwertel barge unloader unloads phosphate materials from barges for storage or for direct loading to oceangoing vessels at Texasgulf's shipping facility in Morehead City, N. C.
