Internally motorized pulleys roll back maintenance costs for foundry's sand conveyors

When conventional drive systems for belt conveyors required excessive maintenance, a foundry switched to internally motorized pulleys.

American Steel Foundries, Chicago, manufactures cast steel railcar components, fifth wheels for over-the-road tractor trucks, and hot coiled steel springs for railcars and heavy construction and earth-moving equipment. The company's Alliance, Ohio, facility produces railcar side frames, bolsters, and couplers.
