A key element of sustained dust collection system performance is designing and operating the baghouse correctly. Achieving reliable baghouse operation is based on several factors, including sizing the baghouse; selecting appropriate filter media and prepping and installing it correctly; controlling baghouse differential pressure; and designing the dust removal system so that dust is continually removed from the baghouse hopper. The presenter will share his experience on these and other issues and will update you on the latest innovations available to address baghouse reliability.

Before becoming a consultant for Workplace Exposure Solutions, Gary worked in health, safety, and environment at Procter & Gamble for 27 years. His focus areas were dust control and central vacuum cleaning system design and maintenance, process safety around flammable vapors and combustible dusts, and environmental emissions and discharges. As a consultant over the last 9+ years, he has helped clients in consumer products, pharmaceuticals, plastics, paint and coatings, foods, flavorings, wood processing, specialty chemical, and metal forming industries.
