Modular feeder gives consistent results in polyethylene pellet application
When a petroleum products manufacturer's feeder gave inconsistent results and required excessive maintenance, a modular feeder gave improved performance.
A major petroleum products manufacturer makes polyethylene pellets at its southern US installation. During production, molten polyethylene exits a reactor and enters an extruder, where it's mixed with additives. The extruder produces polyethylene pellets in approximately 45,000-pound batches. Each batch is stored in a bin.
