Air classifier mill streamlines iron oxide processing
Rather than processing iron oxide in several steps, an iron oxide processor installs a one-pass air classifier mill.
A Midwestern iron oxide processor manufactures materials used to process and fabricate ferrous products. The processor initially receives bags and drums of pigmented iron oxides, which are transferred to a warehouse and stored on pallets. The bags and drums are then moved to processing and emptied, and the material is pneumatically conveyed to a bin with a vibrating discharger. Discharged material is then processed, which includes grinding and classifying to achieve rigidly defined specifications for particle size distributions. After final processing, finished products are packaged in plastic jars, pails, and drums.
