What to consider when selecting a continuous level monitor — Part I
This two-part article explains what factors you need to consider when selecting a continuous level monitor for your storage or process vessel. Sections describe types of available monitors, how to consult a monitor manufacturer for selection advice, and material characteristics and vessel construction details you need to consider when choosing a monitor. Part II will appear in December.
A continuous level monitor provides an uninterrupted indication of the amount of dry bulk material in a vessel. This differs from a point level sensor or level switch that indicates the material's presence or absence at a certain point — typically a high or low spot — in the vessel.
