New bag filter scores an A+
Two companies team up to beta test a new bag filter for baghouse dust collectors.
The less often that we have to install new bags in our baghouse dust collectors the better, because it decreases our yearly costs for bags, maintenance, and production and allows the maintenance crew to focus on other jobs in the facility," says Mike Madey, vice president of operations at Badger Color Concentrates Inc., Mukwonago, Wis. The company produces custom colorants for use in the thermoplastic industry. Madey adds, "Also, it's a dirty job, and the maintenance crew doesn't like doing it." So when a filtration product supplier approached Madey about beta testing a bag constructed of a new filter media that extends the bag life, he immediately agreed to participate.
