Emerging technology: Making conveyor belt weighing and totalizing more accurate and less costly
A new belt scale with dual weigh idlers provides better accuracy at a lower cost than conventional single-idler designs.
The process industries use conveyor belt scales in a variety of ways: to control in-plant inventory and production, to measure flow rate for control of secondary variables, and to assess product yield. Belt scales are also used in point-of-sale operations, demanding applications in terms of allowable error -- typically 1/2 percent of full scale or less.
