Signed, sealed, and reduced maintenance delivered
A cement production company removes a leaky diverter valve and replaces it with two new bulk material valves for reduced maintenance and increased production.
Acement plant headquartered in the midatlantic states operates eight clinker and cement production facilities throughout the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico, producing nearly 6 million metric tons of cement per year. The company switches between manufacturing Portland and masonry cement. When changing from one type of cement to another, the company diverts the end of the production run to a fringe bin. From 1965 to 1993, the company used a diverter valve to move the cement to its appropriate destination. Unfortunately, the valve habitually leaked, costing the cement manufacturing company many hours of lost production time.
