Getting the fuel to the fire
Metering bins with screw feeders consistently deliver fuel to boilers, increasing electricity production and reducing emissions.
As we walk outside during PBE's tour of United Power Association's [UPA's] station in Elk River, Minn., Tim Steinbeck points to the large belt conveyor running overhead. Traveling from a storage building over railroad tracks to the power plant, this belt delivers more than 1,000 tons of fuel each day to produce electricity.
