Drying Desk: Fluid-bed drying — Increasing production and reducing costs
Columnist John J. Walsh discusses how to increase production and reduce costs in fluid-bed drying.
Fluid-bed dryers are available in a myriad of designs and configurations. They can be designed to operate in batch or continuous mode and with convection or conduction heat transfer. Their drying chambers can be cylindrical or box-shaped and incorporate backmixed solids flow or plug flow. Finally, fluid-bed dryers can be stationary or vibrating.
