Emissions monitor for an asphalt manufacturer's dust collector gives reliable results

When an asphalt manufacturer's emissions monitor cried wolf, the manufacturer installed a monitor that gives only true alarms for dust collector bag failures.

Industrial Asphalt manufactures asphalt in Irwindale, Calif. The asphalt manufacturer receives rock and sand by belt conveyor from a nearby quarry and stores the rock and sand in a large enclosed bunker system. The manufacturer receives truckloads of liquid asphalt from a petroleum refinery and stores the asphalt in underground storage tanks.
