Loading spout successfully handles abrasive clinker

To solve abrasion and dusting problems caused by loading clinker, a company installs a new truck-loading spout with abrasion-resistant components and linings.

Lafarge North America, headquartered in Herndon, Va., operates a plant near Sugar Creek, Mo., where it produces clinker and cement. The company experienced problems with a loading spout used there for loading clinker into truck beds. The spout degraded rapidly because of the clinker’s abrasive nature. Because of this, the company decided to install a new telescoping loading spout with abrasion-resistant components and linings.
