Conveyors reduce installation, maintenance costs
Air-supported conveyors handle up to 105 tons of sea salt per hour.
NCP, a leading South African chemical company, converts sodium chloride [salt] into chlorine and caustic soda at its plant in Kempton Park. The salt comes from ocean water that is evaporated in large solar pans in Namibia. The salt is then rinsed to purify it, dried, and shipped to the plant by train. At the plant, the concentrated salt is dissolved in pure water and converted to chlorine and caustic soda by membrane electrolysis.
