Gunned plastic refractories at animal feed plant shoot down unplanned downtime, operating costs
After many refractories failed, an animal feed ingredients plant installs durable gunned plastic refractories in a burner's combustion chamber and a plenum leading to a dryer.
The New Wales Operations animal feed ingredients [AFI] plant is operated in Florida for Pitman-Moore by IMC Fertilizer Group, under the name IMC Feed Ingredients. The feed ingredients manufacturer produces approximately 500,000 t/y of two high-volume products: monocalcium phosphate Biofos and dicalcium phosphate Dynafos.
