Mixing Mechanics: A new tool for high-intensity powder blending
Sometimes when we need a very intimate blending of powders we may have to look for equipment that’s a little different from what we’ve used in the past. In this column, I’m going to describe a mixer that has traditionally been used for liquid mixing but that can be very effective for high-intensity powder blending as well. This mixer isn’t for everyone, but it’s a tool that you may find useful in some applications.
This high-intensity pail mixer was designed to blend materials of varying viscosities, including prepolymer resins, epoxies, and powdered additives. We’re going to look at it in terms of its performance and benefits for powder blending.
