Dust Doctor: Experience can be a good teacher
In this column, the author shares several lesson-teaching experiences.
Industrial Ventilation: A Manual of Recommended Practice for Design, 27th edition, published by American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH), can guide you on how to design and operate your dust collection system. In addition, government authorities advise industry on how to make these systems safer by following published National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. However, the right fixes for some everyday problems can’t be found in these publications. Sometimes you learn more from experience. With that in mind, in this column I’ll share some dust collection system experiences that can shed light on common dust collection problems. Maybe these experiences will help you do it right the next time.
