After a brief introduction to the vibratory sieve, this article suggests six ways to optimize your sieve’s capacity and accuracy.

A wide range of vibratory industrial sieves (also called industrial screeners, sifters, or separators) is available on the market. The vibratory sieve can be round or rectangular, but round sieves are the most common. A typical vibratory sieve has one or more horizontal metal screens mounted in frames with clamps or adhesive. In multiple-screen units, the stacked screens often have different size mesh apertures (holes or openings), with the larger-holed screens at the top of the stack and the smallest at the bottom. A discharge is typically located at one side of each screen, and a vibratory drive with eccentric (unbalanced) weights is mounted under or on one side of the machine.
