A systems integrator installs a new gravimetric batch control system in a company's batch-mixing operation, integrating two independent control systems and creating an electronic database for recipe management.

A baked-goods manufacturer located near Toronto operates nine batch- mixing stations and one spare station to produce its various products. Recently, one proprietary gravimetric batch control system that controlled dry ingredient additions became a concern for the company. The system had become outdated and spare parts were scarce, which would make it extremely expensive to fix the system if it ever failed. The company needed to find a replacement for this system. The company also wanted the new system to include an electronic database for recipe management.
