KWV Jura-Steinwerke finds an inexpensive mill that produces 30-micron and 60-micron powder round the clock.

KWV Jura-Steinwerke operates a limestone plant near Liptingen, Germany, a small town located 70 kilometres northwest of Lake Constance on the Swiss border. The limestone in Liptingen dates from the Jurassic period, about 140 million years ago when a warm, shallow sea covered the region. Corals and sponges grew in this sea and formed large reefs that became deposits of limestone called Massenkalk in German. "It is nearly 100 percent CaCO3," said Hans-Jurgen Rottger, director of the plant. "This is almost pure lime."
