Agglomeration Advisor: Size enlargement testing
So your company's planning to produce a new agglomerated product. To produce it, you're going to have to select new equipment, build a new production line, and maybe even build a new plant. You've done a preliminary project design and perhaps have had your company engineers design a preliminary process line or plant layout. Now you have to test your material and process so you can select the right production equipment.
You have to make many decisions when proceeding from the preliminary project and design to practical testing of the new material. Keep in mind that in addition to determining basic feasibility, the tests must provide information for correctly sizing the equipment and system for a commercial production plant. This isn't always easy when you don't have the product yet. This column discusses some of the testing issues you need to consider.
