An in-line solids flowmeter monitors a flour mill's operation for continuous, accurate information on inventory levels and material flow rates.
Amber Milling, Rush City, Minn., mills durum and spring wheat into several grades of flour, which are used primarily for pasta. The flour grades include semolina, durum patent, durum first clear, and durum second clear. The mill also produces wheat middlings, wheat bran, wheat germ, and a feed by-product. Amber buys railcar-loads of wheat, primarily from large North Dakota grain cooperatives.
