Automated palletizer rapidly, efficiently stacks filled flour bags

A company that produces flour and grain products installs an automated palletizer and stretch-hood machine to help improve productivity.

Bay State Milling, Quincy, Mass., produces high-quality flour and grain products for retail and wholesale bakeries, food service operators, and food distributors and manufacturers. The company operates a milling plant in Clifton, N.J., that produces a range of flour products packaged in 25-, 50-, and 100-pound bags. The company recently upgraded the Clifton plant’s bagging line to increase production by nearly 30 percent, replacing two old lines with one more efficient one. As part of the project, the company needed to find palletizing and pallet-securing equipment capable of keeping up with the production increase.
