Coating solves wear problem on vacuum line shafts

When a contract producer of metal powders was having wear problems on its dryers' vacuum line shafts, a wear-resistant metal coating extended the shafts' lives.

Ametek's specialty metal products division, located in the town of Eighty Four, Pennsylvania, about 40 miles south of Pittsburgh, is a contract producer of metal powders used mainly for powder metallurgy. The powders are compacted into parts used in the automotive, aircraft, computer, medical, and petroleum industries.
